The Real Dusty Brown vs. Alexandra Powers a Comparison

First Impressions

On the first meeting with the Browns, their first impression of Kathy Dusty Brown was that she was not being genuine with them, in other words they thought she was fake----that she was trying to "play nice" were the exact words used to describe her. Chris was pretty captivated with her, at first. He started to really "see her" when he noticed how the family reacted to her, and not just Mary's reaction to her, but everyone who met her.

On Her Looks
No one else could really understand the allure. The direct quote was that she was "no Alexandra Powers" and she needed to have her roots done. Her hair was dyed blonde at the time.

Although, I do wonder what Jack Brown thought of her. In the movie he was impressed by her looks at first.

Lawsuit Against Kathy Brown

In June 1984, Mary and Jack Brown filed a law suit against Kathy, a friend named Pat Shaw, and Kathy's sister, Diane Miller, for the August 1983 kidnapping of baby Christy.  Terrah Christine was just three years old at the time of the abduction.  The law suit was filed in Etowah County, Alabama.

I don't have any information right now on the resolution of that law suit. I will check.

Kathy was sentenced to two years in prison for the kidnapping, but that sentence was suspended. Instead, they gave her probation, and she had to pay court and attorney fees totaling over nine hundred dollars.

About commenting

Regarding commenting....I can't post f bombs guys. So if you comment please use other words. I can post other words other than the f one.

Anyway, the last comment made was by her husband: He stated that the movie was very different from how she actually was in real life. Specifically, he stated.

"She was a loving and caring person that would do anything for you.so please for the love of god please stop verbal bashing...."
