"I knew her as Charlene Jackson"

"I knew her as Charlene Jackson. She and I ran around together. She and I went to Pasadena Tx with two male friends where we stayed at an apt with Wayne Forrest. She and Wayne became lovers later married. I returned to Okla. Learned years later what she had done. One day after she was released from prison in Hawaii and come back to Ada she was at my sisters my sister had met her not knowing anything about her. Charlene had a vcr tape of the movie A matter of justice watched it. I cant say she did what she had been convicted of but I can say that she did have a child by a prison guard while in prison. After watching the movie I left and my sister had her leave her house. I saw her once after that working at a nursing home where I had worked was fired because i had a felony conviction for 2 nd degree burglary. The nursing home was unaware of what she had been convicted of because they only did osbi checks. She had no record."

Kathy Charlene Jackson Brown's children

"I heard that she was pregnant when she was charged with Chris's murder & she had another child after she was released on parole. I am just curious, how many children did she have? Does Christy have children? If she does then I hope she's a better mother than her own mother was. May Chris & his parents rest in peace."
I will have to look, but just to give you a quick answer, she has three children. There might be a fourth. I will check that later. The other children were raised by other people. She became pregnant with one of her kids by a prison guard, as I recall.
As for Christy, she does not have any children.

Kathy Brown's Personality
Many who claim to know her during her later years say that she has a very kind heart. Her sister described her as a loner, who does not trust anyone---especially women. She is an artist and she likes to write stories. In fact, her husband Mark stated that she wrote her own version of events in screenplay format.
She has worked in the food industry such as Taco Bell and in carnival ticket sales. I guess that is how she met her husband in Tennesee while they were traveling with the carnival...(unconfirmed)
She was extremely charismatic and charming. Men were always drawn to her.

Tidbits on My Conversation with Kathy's Present Husband
Interview with Dusty Brown's Mark

Kathy met Mark while they were working together. They were immediately drawn to each other. They fell in love and decided to get married.
Dusty worked as a ticket sales person for a carnival.
As far as the funeral, it was a private service only.
Kathy did have the opportunity to see some of her family members again.
Here is a statement that was sent to me by Mark:
"As far as her children are concerned I have made all attempts to help all of them reunite. I got all of them but christi i didnt make it in time but she does know all that has happened to her mother."
Both Kathy and Mark have had the chance to see the movie A Matter of Justice also known as Final Justice. Now according to him, Kathy showed him a copy of a script that she wrote. I told him that I have spoken to the producer and her attorney many times, and to my knowledge she had no hand in writing the script. Though, it is possible that they used some of the information in the movie, but I can't confirm that. I believe the director and producers made an effort to interview her. Most of the information that was used as a basis for the movie was taken from court transcripts and testimony at trial. I would love for him to donate the document that she wrote to the website.
About that charge in Waco, Texas in the late 2000's
According to her husband, Kathy was only guilty of riding in the car with someone who was drinking. There was an empty "can" under her seat. He was able to get her out of the charge.
On her relationship with Mary Brown
From what I gather, Kathy was very distressed by Mary Brown. I have heard this from more than one person. Mary Brown was a tough cookie. I remember speaking with her, and she was relentless. And, she seemed totally consumed with Kathy. I guess Kathy knew this because she had deep unpleasant feelings for Mary Brown for ruining her life. She has insisted that she had NO part in Chris' death and that Rocky acted alone. According to her husband, she constantly battled those feelings, and he was just at the point of getting her to a positive place with that. But, he feels that he was not completely able to make a break through with her.
I am particularly interested in knowing exactly what it is about Kathy that continued to attract these young guys to her. Yes, she was still attractive, but I think there is something more...something deeper that attracts them to her. I am hoping to continue my conversation with him about Kathy. I have so many questions about this case that continues to intrigue me.
Side note: I received a comment from a person who knew Dusty's daughter Christy. She said that Christy was due to leave prison in October of this year, but she has gotten into a lot of trouble in prison and has picked up 9 new felony charges. (I wonder if she is acting out because she is distraught over her mom's death. Will try to confirm the charges soon. For updates on baby Christy please visit her page.

The Real Dusty Brown vs. Alexandra Powers a Comparison
First Impressions
On the first meeting with the Browns, their first impression of Kathy Dusty Brown was that she was not being genuine with them, in other words they thought she was fake----that she was trying to "play nice" were the exact words used to describe her. Chris was pretty captivated with her, at first. He started to really "see her" when he noticed how the family reacted to her, and not just Mary's reaction to her, but everyone who met her.
On Her Looks
No one else could really understand the allure. The direct quote was that she was "no Alexandra Powers" and she needed to have her roots done. Her hair was dyed blonde at the time.
Although, I do wonder what Jack Brown thought of her. In the movie he was impressed by her looks at first.
